Volunteers Needed!

Our church loves to minister to families who have lost a loved one by providing a luncheon following a memorial service. We have two funerals coming up on Thursday, August 14 and Saturday, August 23 and would love some help. A sign up sheet will be in the foyer on Sunday to let us know if you can provide sandwiches, fruit or veggie trays, or finger desserts on the day of the luncheon. Contact the office or Helen Gabriel for more details. If you are unable to be here on Sunday and would like to contribute, just respond to this email and we can add you to the sign up sheet. Thanks!

Children’s Church

There will be a sign up sheet in the foyer for those are willing to volunteer for Children’s Church and who have an up to date criminal record check with CHBC.

Back to School

It's almost Back to School time and once again this year, CHBC would like to provide school supplies for the students and staff at Quinson Elementary. These supplies are greatly appreciated by the school each year. 

Items needed this year are:

• Pencils
• Pencil sharpeners
• Erasers
• Scissors
• Glue sticks (no bottles please)
• Washable markers
• Duotangs/duotang folders (variety of colours)
• Pencil crayons
• Crayons
• Half-ruled notebooks
• Magnets
• Personal white boards and clip boards
• Whiteboard markers
• Fine tip black Sharpies

Items can be placed in the large box in the foyer. 

Monetary donations are also gratefully accepted. Please mark donations as "Benevolent School Supplies". Thank you!

Vern & Gloria Wagner: Please take a moment to read Vern & Gloria recent letter which is posted on the foyer missions board. Hopefully, their NAB link will provide this letter soon: Vern and Gloria Wagner – North American Baptist Missions

· Some highlights: We are thankful for each of you who continue to journey with us through your prayers and support as we serve at Camp Falcon Rock. After conversations with the NAB we have made the decision to remain in Romania for another year. With the Gerickes leaving the field, the NAB has invited us to continue serving at Camp Falcon Rock through Nov. 2026. We look forward to seeing what God has in store for us beyond that. We plan to return home this November to spend Christmas with our family. Our last two visits were focused on our parents and we feel it's time to enjoy some quality "grandchildren time!" We will return to Romania at the beginning of January 2026.

·  Paul & Tanya Gericke: Paul & Tanya’s are now transitioning from their ministry at Camp Falcon Rock to life in Canada. They will continue with the NAB until January to provide support with the transition of CFR’s other ministry leaders. WOMEN’S MINISTRY UPDATE:

FALL KICK OFF! Mark your calendars for our dessert potluck at 7pm on Monday, September 8th at the church! This is always a fun and relaxing time to say hello after the summer break and hear what is happening with Women's Ministry for the year ahead.

BIBLE STUDIES:

·  Ladies Morning Out begins on Thursday, September 11th and runs through to November 27th The potluck brunch is on December 4th.

Child Care Needed! Two individuals are needed to care for toddlers. This is a paid position at $20/hour for three hours each Thursday (9am to 12 noon). A Criminal Record Check is required. Please contact Ruth Grasley or Kathy Harris if you are interested.

·  Monday Night Study begins September 15th.

SOMETHING NEW - MONTHLY GATHERINGS! We are excited about deciding to change from bi-annual events to monthly gatherings. Each evening will include a devotional and time to focus on God to encourage us and strengthen our walk. These will be times when we can get to know each other, have fun together with outings, gather for crafts, games, or visit if that is what you prefer. More information to come on dates!
