What's happening

Join us for Worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am for the summer months. This will be in-person and streamed live online. We will continue to have a nursery for toddlers during the morning service. Children’s church will continue for kids age 4—grade 4.

Worship

For anyone currently involved or interested in getting involved in CHBC music ministry, you are invited to join us for a drop in music night! There are two nights available. Come to one or both. Wednesday, August 10 and 24, from 7-9 pm. Bring your own instrument if you have one. Contact Becky or Karl for more info.

Men’s Ministry will be hosting a softball game followed by a BBQ.

  •  When:  Sunday, August 21 at 2pm
  • Where: Nechako Field Park at 3303 N Nechako Rd.
  • Who: Anyone can play regardless of skill or gender, the only restriction is you be at least 14 years old.

If you or your family want to come only to watch and stay for the BBQ you are more than welcome but please register ahead of time. Game will go until about 4pm and then followed by the BBQ. This is also a great way to bring your friends to a church event. We are also looking for extra softball bats or extra help with cooking and clean up.

How to register: to play or just come to eat please email men@mychbc.ca with numbers of who is coming so we can be prepared with enough food. Once you register a suggested donation of $10/person for those wanting to play or $5 for those only wanting to eat can be made at the park. Please register by Wednesday, August 17.

Women’s Ministry

Are you looking for a place to serve but not sure where? Do you like socializing and want to have somewhere to go with other Christian women to help build you up and grow your faith? Have you ever thought of leading a Bible study but nervous being a first timer. Come out on August 22nd at 7pm to the church and be a part of our team. We are looking for anyone who has a heart for service. Your heart to serve God is the only prerequisite. If you have any questions or can’t make it that night but want to be involved please email me, Ruth Grasley rmgrasley@shaw.ca or text me 250-261-5883.

Prayers for family & missionaries

Dominic Villeneuve – MAF, East DRC:  Another solo – another impactful flight - After having enough training time on the MAF Cessna Caravan, I had my first solo flight taking a team from Samaritan’s Purse who are working on livestock and agricultural projects. These projects are focused on helping isolated and poor communities decrease cases of acute malnutrition while helping to create livelihood opportunities.

A Year of God’s Faithfulness! Over the past year, I have had a front-row seat to witness God’s faithfulness as we serve isolated communities in East DRC despite evacuations, armed conflict, and upheaval. I have also seen His faithfulness in my life as I have battled through physical pain and endured spiritual challenges. He has been my one constant!

Prayer for:

·  peace throughout the Congo and the world

·  continued health for myself and the team

·  continued good relations with the aviation authority in Congo

·  all those affected by the ongoing violence

·  our team as we continue to fly medication and vaccines throughout the EDRC to fight the measles outbreak that continues

Praise for:

·  new planes and pilots!

·   the work that God is doing through all His servants here in the EDRC
