Church in the Park!

On June 14th we’re moving our Sunday morning worship service to Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park where we will join with other churches as we participate in the annual Church in The Park service!

The service starts at 10:30am and after the service we encourage everyone to stick around for some fellowship! Food trucks are available for you to purchase lunch and there will be lots of great bouncy castles for the kids! So bring a lawn chair or blanket, as well as maybe some sunscreen or an umbrella and come and be part of this wonderful service where we celebrate unity in Christ!

CHBC Summer Worship

This year we will continue to have 2 worship services throughout the summer – one at 9 am and 10:45 am. Children’s Church will be offered in the 10:45 service, but the 9 am Sunday School will not be resuming until the fall. The final Sunday School will be on June 17th.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Don’t forget to register your children for VBS. Find the link on the CHBC website

Please check the bulletin board in the foyer for items that still need to be donated and please don’t forget to collect toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls. All we need is the cardboard tubes.

All bakers out there – please consider making 3 inch round undecorated sugar cookies. The donation slips for the cookies are on the board.

If you are able to volunteer the week of VBS July 6-10 please sign up in the foyer on Sunday or contact Joyel. We still need some key helpers. Please come to the church Thursday mornings from 9:30 – noon to help create the many decorations we would like to have to make that week special!

Prayers for family & missionaries

Bruce & Raewyn Wiebe, Wycliffe Bible Bible Translation: From Wycliffe: “For 40 years, Bruce & Raewyn have faithfully served with Wycliffe, beginning their ministry in Mexico where Bruce specialized in linguistics and orthography while Raewyn supported both their family and local translation work. Bruce has become a vital consultant, ensuring the Gospel is accessible through culturally appropriate writing systems, while Raewyn has expanded her role to focus on global education and missionary member care. Together, their technical expertise and dedicated support have left a lasting impact on the global Bible translation movement and the well-being of its missionary communities. Thank you for joining Bruce & Raewyn in their important ministry.”

Dominic Villeneuve, MAF, DR Congo: Please continue to pray for Dominic, other MAF staff, missionaries and medical teams as they serve and minister to the Congolese during the Ebola virus outbreak. Read this National Post article on an evacuation Dominic was involved with: Canadian pilot evacuates medical family out of DRC amid Ebola crisis | National Post As well, you can read Dominic’s Epistle update and his May newsletter, which is attached.
