Baptisms at West Lake
We have reserved the group site of the park across the bridge at West LakeProvincial Park for Sunday, July 19 to celebrate some baptisms. Bring your picnic lunch, lawn chairs, umbrellas and some bug spray as we gather to witness those who desire to follow Jesus and make a public declaration of their conviction. Baptisms start at 2 pm but come earlier if you can!
CHBC Summer Worship
This year we will continue to have 2 worship services throughout the summer – one at 9 am and 10:45 am. Children’s Church will be offered in the 10:45 service, but the 9 am Sunday School will not be resuming until the fall. The final Sunday School will be on June 17th.
CHBC Sunday Evening Service
After prayerful discussion, our elders have decided to move ahead with plans for a Sunday evening service, with a target launch date of Sunday, September 13, 2026.
Over the summer, our staff, elders, and Worship Committee will continue working through the details, including service structure, volunteer needs, music, hospitality, and other practical matters. A group of interested participants and potential launch team members will also be meeting later this summer to pray, connect, and prepare together.
At this stage, this is simply an FYI for the whole congregation. More information will be shared as plans develop. In the meantime, please join us in thanking God for his guidance so far, and in praying for wisdom, unity, and clarity as we prepare for the fall. Our hope is that this evening service would create more space for people to encounter Christ, grow in meaningful relationships, and experience the warmth and hospitality of our church family.

Prayers for family & missionaries
Effect Hope: Effect Hope is a Canadian Christian global health organization that our church family supports. It is the largest Christian global health organization in Canada exclusively focused on serving people affected by neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). They work to break down barriers to NTD services, ensuring everyone can access the care they need, no matter how remote or isolated they are. They partner with government and trusted local organizations in the Global South: Liberia, Côte D’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, DRC, Ethiopia, India, and Bangladesh. Dominic Villeneuve, MAF, DR Congo: Dominic is at approximately 25% of his fundraising to purchase a vehicle. After much prayer and consideration and because it is no longer safe for him to ride his motorcycle given Bunia’s growth and a dramatic increase in traffic with more vehicles, higher speeds, and unpredictability, Dominic is seeking to raise funds for his ministry. Short-Term Ministry Honorarium Application! The Missions Committee encourages those who volunteer at Christian organizations to apply for an honorarium. The application is attached. Once completed you can scan and email to missions@mychbc.ca or drop it off at the office. Applications are processed at the end of August/beginning of September.
