CHBC Summer Worship

This year we will continue to have 2 worship services throughout the summer – one at 9 am and 10:45 am. Children’s Church will be offered in the 10:45 service, but the 9 am Sunday School will not be resuming until the fall. The final Sunday School will be on June 17th.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Don’t forget to register your children for VBS. Find the link on the CHBC website. 

Please check the bulletin board in the foyer for items that still need to be donated and please don’t forget to collect toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls. All we need is the cardboard tubes.

All bakers out there – please consider making 3 inch round undecorated sugar cookies. The donation slips for the cookies are on the board.

If you are able to volunteer the week of VBS July 6-10 please sign up in the foyer on Sunday or contact Joyel. We still need some key helpers. Please come to the church Thursday mornings from 9:30 – noon to help create the many decorations we would like to have to make that week special!

The season of summer camps is almost here in Canada! In Romania, CFR has already begun! Please be in prayer for each of the camps that our church family supports:

Ness Lake Bible Camp, Prince George:  Missionaries with NLBC that CHBC supports are: Dave Horton (Executive Director), Jonah Holmes (Year Round Crew #1/Swiss Army Knife), Dayna Penson (Program Director) and Gabe Penson (Facilities Assistant). Check out the NLBC website Home :: Ness Lake Bible Camp

Prayer:

• We have a WilderNess Assistant Director and Head Cook but we need to still find a WilderNess Director as Michael Gauthier is now at Echo Lake Bible Camp
• We are working with and supporting several local churches to run sponsorship for their areas of town and sending missionaries to serve a specific week to boost our capacities. It's a lot of new details but we are seeing huge impacts
• Recruiting Summer Team (Cabin Leaders, Kitchen Help, Boat Drivers etc. is a huge priority. Pray that we are able to invite and draw the right people who are excited and skilled to serve the 1200 campers we have signed up already

Praise:

• Many of the gaps from staff transitions have been filled. Ginger Herle is Interim Guest Services Manager. Jeni Arnott is now Food Services Manager and Levi Friesen is now Facilities Assistant
• Our Leader in Training Program is selling out months earlier than usual. Encouraged to see that the changes to the program are bringing in so much interest
• We have 15 Spring Crew serving schools, guest groups, dry grads, our events and helping prep for summer already

Roseau River Bible Camp, Manitoba:  Andrew Milton serves as the Site Director at RRBC. Please pray for Andrew, his wife Leslie (who is the Bookkeeper) and their two children. Read about RRBC’s ministry: Roseau River Bible Camp

Paul & Tanya Gericke - Camp Falcon Rock, Romania: At CFR, our team is in full preparation mode - getting the grounds ready and eagerly anticipating the arrival of close to 1000 children and youth who will be coming onsite to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. As in previous years, we are once again inviting your support to help send children to camp. Please consider partnering with CFR to help send a child this summer: My NAB Portal - Canada - Giving

In addition to the July camp programs at Camp Falcon Rock, as camps carry on at CFR in August, many of our leaders will also travel into surrounding villages to run village ministry programs. This allows us to reach children who are unable to attend camp onsite, extending the impact of the summer even further.

Most importantly, we ask for your prayers—for our team, for the campers, and for every child who will hear the message of hope this summer. Thank you for your faithful partnership.

Vern & Gloria Wagner - Camp Falcon Rock: An excerpt from the Wagner’s attached newsletter. “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31 This is our prayer as we enjoy many sunsets on the deck and gear up for a very busy summer. Camps start the middle of June and go until the second week of September. There will be approximately 1000 children, teens, and youth on the camp property. Pray for:

• all the campers that attend summer camp
• many seeds to be planted and that there is someone to water those seeds after the campers leave
• the staff - kitchen, cleaning, maintenance, leaders, counsellors, speakers
• the volunteers, local and international (we have 7 Canadians joining us for 3 weeks in July.)
