CHBC Town Hall Meeting

Come to the church at 7 pm on Tuesday, May 13th to discuss the Staffing Proposal recently presented by the elders, board, and staff. A copy of the proposal can be found on our church website.

CHBC VBS 

With Vacation Bible school coming up July 7-11th we are hoping to BORROW the following:

1. Flat Bottom Boat (kids will sit in for pictures)

2. Canoe (on stage for decor not sitting in)

3. Wooden snow shoes (cabin decor)

4. Deer "Shed" antlers (small)

5. Fishing Rods / tackle Box

6. Round log "stools"

7. Firewood Pile

8. Wooden paddles

9. Dutch oven Pot

10. Axe and chopping block 

11. 2 camp chairs

12. Green Christmas trees any size

Please pickup slip from donation table starting on Sunday May 18

We would love for you to join us in preparing for the VBS week of July 7-11. On Thursday mornings we make decorations from 9:30 – 11:30 am in the church basement. No great crafting skills required! If you can cut with a scissors and glue, you are welcome!

In His Care

If you missed the training session in the fall, this is another opportunity to take the “In His Care” training, which is required to work with the youth of our church. The session will be held at 9 am on Sunday morning, May 25. Contact Joyel Huber for more information.

Compassion Committee

If you are open to serving others in other practical ways (yard work, house maintenance, driving, cooking/baking . . . etc), please let one of the members of the Compassion Ministry know. We would love to add you to the list of people we can contact as needs arise in our congregation.

Upcoming Events

Sunday, May 11: Advokate Baby Bottle Campaign

With Mother's Day coming up it's time to start collecting change again. Loose cash and old dimes fit the bill for the Baby Bottle Campaign. The campaign, run by Advokate (Hope for Women), goes until Father's Day with proceeds supporting mothers facing an unplanned pregnancy. 

As well, to help support the running of this fundraiser, we would love it if we could have some volunteers to help us run the booth for signing bottles in and out. Join us in celebrating Mother's Day by supporting women in crisis. 

Sunday May 25: Dominic Villeneuve will be visiting CHBC! We are excited for you to meet Dominic and hear about the ministry of Mission Aviation Fellowship

Chain of Love Homes, Braziil: See the foyer missions board for all the news! Excerpt: On March 29, 15 of our children and teens got baptized! Praise the Lord! Now, it’s time for intense discipleship and faith strengthening. Despite challenges in receiving government funding, because of our supporters and sponsors, our finances are balanced, and we can continue to look after our children well. We are so grateful to you and thank you for your faithfulness.

Prayer requests

- For the newborn Christians who were baptized

- For Moisés, our Chaplain, and JP Allen, an American missionary who is helping Moisés

Men’s Ministry

The men’s Bible study meets on Wednesday, January 8th at 7.00 pm at the church. We continue in the study of the Gospel of Matthew, and close each study praying for each other. Looking forward to seeing you. Dave and Bob
