What's happening

Beatitude Group:

Our sermon series to start the year is focusing on the 'Beatitudes' found in the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-16).

As we work our way through this series, Curtis and Todd will be running a "Beatitude Group" over Zoom on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:00 pm. This will be a great time to connect and visit online with others and to think about how we can apply each Beatitude to life. We hope you'll join us and participate! Feel free to email Todd with any questions!

Prayers for family & missionaries

Priscilla Mueller and StreetLight Ministry (with Youth for Christ): Homelessness in Prince George is rising among all demographics, and as YFC connected with community partners, they were seeing a rise in young people who are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. There isn't a targeted Christian ministry to those young people in Prince George, and YFC would like to change that, leveraging relationships with service providers and the larger Christian community to holistically reach street-involved youth in Prince George. Stephen Swan, who leads Prince George YFC, discussed the StreetLight ministry with the Missions Committee. StreetLight began in June 2021. They have established a working relationship with the New Life Centre and will evaluate and adjust their strategy as needed as they discover the needs of Prince George street youth. YFC has a network of other chapters that are already doing this work with programs in literacy, emotional trauma, and mobile drop-in centres. There is a wealth of organizational expertise at StreetLight’s disposal. Their strategy will be adaptive as they seek to accomplish their mission with the most at-risk and needy young people in our city.

Priscilla Mueller: Priscilla Mueller is currently a part-time employee of YFC. She has a wealth of experience working with Native Friendship Centres and women's shelters and is someone with a passion for seeing broken and hurting youth find hope in Jesus. She is leading the StreetLight ministry. We hope to have Priscilla visit CHBC during one of our services; however, if this cannot occur due to Covid 19 restrictions, we will endeavour to introduce her via video. Please pray for Priscilla and the team at YFC StreetLight as they serve the street youth of PG. Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance as this ministry is in the beginning stages.
